Two Wise Owls shows students how to use mnemonic memorization to help them remember difficult spellings and important information. A mnemonic is an image and/or sequence of words, used for the rote memorization of spelling and facts. For example, “An island is land with water around it”. That’s how you spell “island”.
Two Wise Owls has lots of useful mnemonics to support those who have not yet enjoyed success in mastering awkward spellings. The program is suitable for second grade and beyond, as well as for those with specific learning difficulties (including dyslexia), and those who find using mnemonics a useful tool for memorizing important information.
Clip art, teaching suggestions, teacher records and an accompanying set of cards are included as well as the tools to make and print their own mnemonics. Teacher controls allow specific mnemonics to be mastered as the student is ready.
