Emergent Reader supports the efforts of beginning readers by developing their sight word vocabularies. With a library of 20 picture book-style stories, Emergent Reader presents students with text-highlighted reading of these engaging, but very simply written, stories. Each of these stories has a short sequence of pages each with one line of text and an animated picture. Students re-read the text aloud, and can record and hear their own voices. Included in each story are three reinforcement activities: two word-recognition exercises that build students' sight reading vocabulary, and a sentence-building activity that helps student understand the basics of sentence structure.
