In Equation Tile Teasers students develop logic thinking and pre-algebra skills with three challenging problem-solving activities. Presented with a set of number equations with 10 missing spots, students select numbers 0 through 9 exactly once to correctly satisfy the equation sets. While it is easy to choose one number to make one sentence true, it becomes more difficult to create a correct numerical arrangement using all 10 digits. An onscreen calculator and a Hint button are available for assistance.
Students begin the program solving randomly generated problem sets involving mixed operations. In the second activity, students solve intersecting equations in a mathematical crossword puzzle, and move to the third activity to learn about pre-algebra concepts by solving sets of equations that contain the unknown.
