This program has four different engaging activities that you can customize to match each child's specific need. The motivating activities are filled with clever animation, lively music, and vivid graphics, and use a combination of spoken words, printed words, pictures, and letters to help young students reach their goals.

Reading Who? Reading You!
Effectively teach beginning reading skills with Reading Who? Reading You! This dynamic multimedia program provides basic phonics instruction through a variety of engaging games and entertaining puzzles that have children asking for more.

Designed in consultation with a number of the nation's leading reading educators, this motivational CD-ROM will supplement any instructional reading program. You can easily use it to monitor each child's progress and the program continually presents your students with an appropriate challenge. Reading Who? Reading You! sequentially presents groups of words in order to build letter and word knowledge in small increments. Ultimately, this will enable children to decode many hundreds of common words.

Emergent Reader
This story-reading program supports the efforts of beginning readers by developing their sight word vocabularies. With a library of 20 picture book-style stories, Emergent Reader presents students with reading opportunities that develop reading confidence and skill as they:

  • See and hear text-highlighted reading of engaging, but very simply written, stories.

  • Listen to proper pronunciations of frequently used words.

  • Learn new words in a controlled vocabulary presentation of a single text-line per page.

  • Record and play back their own voices reading the stories aloud.

  • Develop their oral expression skills.

  • Engage in three reinforcement activities that build word-recognition, reading vocabulary, and sentence structure skills.

Every Child a Reader
Every Child a Reader presents traditional reading strategies in a rich literary context. This beautifully illustrated program is designed to promote independent reading and develop oral and written expression. Every Child a Reader contains 50 original stories which sequentially introduce a controlled first-grade vocabulary. These stories are exquisitely written and brimming with captivating illustrations. Direct instruction, including spelling, phonics and word recognition, is integrated into the story reading. Through the unique context sensitive help feature, instructional support is individualized, assisting students as they independently read increasing complex and interesting literature.

The goal of Every Child a Reader is to promote reading fluidity through mastery of the stories and the 450 sight and vocabulary words from over 100 phonogram families. Learning is reinforced by three skill games. Students also form verbal expression skills by recording their own voices when reading aloud, and develop writing skill as they write creative stories that relate to their reading.

Teachers' controls are embedded in every element of the program. These monitoring tools let teachers closely gauge students' progress, analyze problem areas, and create printed reports. Students' work and all 50 stories can be printed. Young students enjoy the gentle pace and the enlivened atmosphere of this program, which will help make Every Child a Reader!
